Not sure if everyone knows but the weather in Ireland hasn't been great for saying it's summer. We've maybe had about 7 days in total over the past 2-3 months where it hasn't rained. While it was nice and sunny managed to get some nice shots of our plants. Also I found the Marexar-CX 28-200mm 3.5 lens which fits on the d7000. I've had this lens for a while after dad picked it up/found it at a car boot, its taken a beating but still works!

Reverse Lens Macro III

Getting more practise with it. When I get my Macro lens later in the year it will be nice to compare the reverse lens to a lens specifically created with macro photography in mind (the micro nikkor 105mm). The lens I usually use for my macro work is the Tamron 70-300 (tend to use it more for the recent wildlife shots). Using the 50mm reversed gives a better quality but extremely hard to focus and currently haven't had bright enough weather to make the aperture narrower (1.8 is giving such a shallow depth of field to be useful).

I'm still having fun and really enjoying the results though!

Some more shots playing around using my 50mm 1.8 backwards to make a macro lens.

A bit windy here at the moment! Dragging plants and things indoors to shoot. A couple more shots from the Wildlife conservation as well. Tamron 70-300mm

I'm also looking at getting a new lens. After some thought (sports lens or macro). I've decided to go for macro for now. This is the lens I'm looking at;

The 105mm f2.8 Micro Nikkor will be a great choice for me and a good upgrade for my current macro lens. Quite expensive but worth it for the picture quality.
